Together with our Calligrapher we teach the various religious, art and architecture uses of Arabic words. The course includes informations, observation and practicing the very traditional way of this art using natural organic tools like “ Kalam “: bamboo pencils, “ Samgh “: burned wool mixed in water and written in “ Lawh “: wooden boards or “ Alwarak “: normal paper.

Used to beautify and honor the words of Allah and the Islamic manuscripts, Arabic Calligraphy first was used in religious books and papers and from there to mosques where walls, arches and fountains were highlighted with verses from the Quran, prayers, religious words or simply Arabic poetic words offering informations about these buildings. Later on palaces, Riads, public fountains and important buildings were decorated with either painted words or engraved in wood, marble or sizzled Zellij tiles.
